Latinovations is blogging from the opening day of the annual conference of the National Association of Latino Elected Officials (NALEO) being held in Hollywood, California.
Already opening session have delved in the issues of health care, education and green jobs. Elected officials from around the country are gathering at this event to discuss some of the very weighty issues facing the Latino community including the upcoming nomination hearings for Sonia Sotomayor and the outlook for passage of immigration reform including the meeting that the White House is hosting today for policy makers on the issue.
