Ad Campaign Urges Support for Health Care Legislation

A number of African-American, Latino and civil rights groups have launched an ad campaign in support of health care legislation. The ads are targeting moderate Democratic senators, urging them to support legislation that would allow the government to sell insurance in competition with private options.

Thomas E. Perez Tasked With Rebuilding the DOJ Civil Rights Division

Yesterday, the US Senate approved the nomination of Thomas E. Perez as assistant attorney general for the Civil Rights Division of the Justice Department.  His confirmation marks the first time a Hispanic has served in this position.
